Things to Do in Aspen, Colorado

Aspen activities include world-class skiing, golf and outdoor summer sports and recreation. Aspen boasts some of the best learning and expert mountains in the world, such as Aspen MountainAspen Highlands, and Buttermilk Mountain. Aspen also has many events, such as Aspen Fashion Week in the spring, the Aspen FOOD & Wine Classic in June, and the Aspen Music Festival. The Aspen Music Festival lasts for 9 weeks, from June to August, and includes over 350 classical music performances.

Getting There

The Ritz Carlton Residence Club in Aspen Highland has three different airport options:

- Aspen-Pitkin County Airport is only 5 minutes away (20 minutes from Snowmass).

- Grand Junction Regional Airport  is 1.5 hours away and is a bit bigger than the Apsen-Pitkin County Airport.

- Denver International Airport (DIA) is 4 hours away and has the largest flight selection among these 3 airports.

Aspen Transportation:

All three airports have at least one major car rental service, limousine service, and taxi service.

Willow Creek Bistro provides heated, outdoor, slopeside dining, as well as cozy indoor dining. Willow Creek Bistro also has live entertainment and several holiday events throughout the winter season. Mondays are the Tastemaker Series at Willow Creek Bistro, from 5 to 7:30pm.

For further après ski dining options, head down to Aspen Highlands Village, where you will find grills, cafès, bistros, and pizza parlors.

 

Aspen Shopping

Aspen is known for its amazing, high-end shopping. You can find fashion-forward ski wear, men's, women’s and children’s clothing stores, antiques, art galleries, fur shops, fine jewelry, luggage, shoes, sports equipment rentals, and more. Aspen Fashion Week in March showcases some of the amazing ski fashion Aspen has to offer, and many of the runway pieces can be found at local outfitters and boutiques. 

Aspen has two pedestrian malls, which are filled with flowers during the summer. You can also head to Downtown Aspen to Galena Street to peruse the international fashion houses.

Aspen Skiing

Aspen is the perfect destination for your Colorado ski vacation. Aspen has four main mountains: Aspen MountainAspen Highlands, Snowmass and Buttermilk Mountain. Guests can have their equipment transferred between mountains, as well as have them stored, cleaned, tuned, waxed or repaired. 

There are plenty of runs for skiers of all levels. Buttermilk Mountain, home to the ESPN Winter X Games, is the premier learning mountain in the country. Buttermilk also has the legendary Crazy Train Terrain Park for expert level skiers that boasts a 22-foot super pipe. Aspen Highlands is a locals' favorite, most famous for the Highland Bowl.
